Some of it’s fantastic ingredients include;
Blue Lotus Flower Extract – oxygenates and refreshes the skin
Honeysuckle Flower Extract – known as an anti inflammatory and it helps repair skin cells.
Witch Hazel – Acne fighter, reduces puffy eyes, it’s an astringent and can help reduce vericose veins/dark circles, it refreshes, locks in moisture, helps treat razor burn. It’s all around amazing.

Super Easy DIY Watercolor Mug

Super Easy DIY Watercolor Mug

I’m in various makeup groups on facebook and these groups like to do secret swaps where you get a name and you buy them gifts and send it in the mail. I love doing it, it’s so much fun because you never know what you’re going to get! Well, in this particular swap it’s a Secret Valentine’s Day Swap and the spending limit is $50. Which, if you are a makeup lover you know that gets you like one good palette and that’s it, sometimes not even! So while I’m getting her a few smaller makeup goodies, I also wanted to do something more personalized and creative.

This mug is SO easy to do and took me literally 5 minutes, but it looks adorable!

What you’ll need
Ceramic Mug
Nail Polish
Dish filled with warm water (deep enough to dip the mug into)
Dishwasher Safe Sealant

Add a few drops of nail polish to the dish with the warm water, you can take a tooth pick and swirl it around if you want, or create whatever design. Then you just dip the ceramic mug in, lift it out, pat it (gently) dry and let it sit for a few hours to harden. I recommend sealing it with Mod Podge Dishwasher Safe Sealant, as it’s non-toxic and will let you pop it in the dishwasher.  🙂

Easy DIY Watercolor Mug

This was such a fun project for me, I’m going to do a bunch of different colors 😀

Younique’s Touch Pressed Powder Foundation Review

Younique’s Touch Pressed Powder Foundation Review

Alright, so everyone knows that Younique is growing in popularity. November 2013 there were less than 9,000 Younique Presenters and currently there are over  156,346 ( number pulled from their website, here).

So with their 14 day “Love It’ Guarantee, what’s the harm in trying their products, right? Without any further ado I am going to go ahead and review Younique’s Touch Pressed Powder Foundation, now this is not their only foundation. They also have a cream foundation, but I’ll save that for another post.

Foundation Rating: 9/10

Cost: $32 or 2/$60
Finish: Very Matte
Coverage: Medium / Full
Longevity: All Day Coverage
How often will you need to repurchase if used daily: 3-5 months
Skin type recommended to wear this: Oily

This foundation is really quite amazing and definitely one of my absolute favorites that I have purchased. However, it does have a very very matte finish, if you have oily skin this foundation will be a dream come true for you! It soaks up oil SO well. But if you are a normal/dry skin type, then you’ll need something underneath it to keep the moisture in your face. Their BB Cream goes amazingly well paired with this and will give you a full coverage finish. When I put it on, I don’t need to do touch-ups at all throughout the day, it stays put and is lovely.

The best way to apply it is with a flat head makeup brush in a circular motion all over the face. Overall this foundation is amazing and I love it and I know that you will too!  The reason it scored a 9/10 is because it is very matte and I generally prefer something slightly less matte.

Do you have this foundation? What do you think of it? Let me know in the comments!

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Instant Eye Lift Algae Mask

So I know that there’s this crazy thing out there right now that everyone has seen on YouTube that instantly erases puffiness and wrinkles from your face. However, when I looked into it more I found that one of the ingredients is really awful for you, and is actually recommended not to use near your eyes (which is where everyone has been using it). So I set out to find something amazing and similar and that’s when I came across Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Instant Eye Lift Algae Mask.

It comes in a cute little case like that along with 6 sets of pure marine algae Eye Masks (12 total) and 6 Activator Fluid capsules. It doesn’t sound like much, right? Well, you’re wrong! Not only did it help the puffiness of my eyes and felt awesome while using it, but it has so many amazing ingredients in it and nothing awful.

Organic borage seed oil, organic shea butter, organic jojoba oil, organic aloe leaf juice, organic white grape juice, organic apple juice, organic lemon juice, organic grapeseed oil, a proprietary blend of apple buds, grape buds, lemon bark, vitamin c, organic cucumber, organic white tea leaf, organic chamomile, organic marigold, organic amica flower and algin.

Did you read all of that?! It’s fantastic! All natural ingredients, and in 10 minutes my eyes felt refreshed, I looked better, I felt happier because I looked better haha. Plus with all of those amazing organic ingredients just soaking into my skin it made it so much softer! I love this stuff and I highly recommend it!

Just for your amusement here’s a silly picture of my with the mask on.

Is Drinking Red Wine Better than Going to the Gym?

So is drinking red wine better than going to the gym? If you’re one of those people who would rather sip a glass of red wine and stream a season of something on Netflix, then you’re in luck!

red wine and exercise

According to a study done by The University of Alberta which was published in The Journal Of Physiology one glass of red wine can have the same effects as working out hardcore at the gym for an hour. Resveratrol, an antioxidant found in red wine, has beneficial effects on cardiac and skeletal muscle function, similar to the effects of endurance exercise training. Not only that but when you combine the red wine with an exercise regime, increased endurance was shown.

But, sadly for the lushes of the world, these effects are only possible with a single glass of red wine (sigh, how I wish 3 glasses equaled a 3 hour workout), preferably with your dinner meal. A single glass of red wine is also great for your heart and reduces the chance of blood clots.

So let’s raise our glasses and cheer to drinking red wine!

You can also get reversitrol from nuts, grapes and in capsule form if you aren’t an alcohol drinker!

NUME Classic 19mm Curling Wand Review

Nume Wand 19mm

NUME Classic 19mm Curling Wand Review

Nume curling wand 19mm

Alright, so I bought the NUME Classic 19mm curling wand during a Black Friday sale and since then I had only used it once. So I thought I would pull it out and do a review today giving my honest opinions on it.

I wanted to say that when it came to the curls in the above picture, I first did all of the curls tightly then when they cooled* off I brushed them out to give them more of a beachy/bouncy curl

* note: “cooled off” is an important step, if you do it when they are hot you brush the curls out.

  • It gave me something to do on a frigid temperature day, where I can’t leave the house (currently -12 outside)
  • Makes really cute curls
  • Curls hold longer it seems
  • Comes with a glove. Some reviews I read before I made the purchase, said that it didn’t come with a glove and that you needed to purchase one from Sally’s. I decided to take my chances and wait until it came in, and it came with one! So maybe they read all the reviews and decided to up their game.
  • Gets nice and hot, very quickly.

  • Retail price point: $139
  • Learning curve; it’s not so easy to learn how to curl your hair without a clip, I had a fairly hard time doing my right side and trying to contort myself to make it work.
  • There’s no stand on the wand itself, so if you have to pee in the middle of doing your hair, you have to carefully hold the wand while you use the toilet, or it’s going to fall off the counter or into the sink, or whatever.
  • Top of the handle gets hot after about 15 minutes of using it, so you have to make sure your hand stays down far enough on the plastic part or you can burn your fingers.

At one point during my hair curling, I happened to look at myself in the mirror and think, “wow, I have like 9 chins right now, that’s attractive.”

Nume Wand 19mm review

and when I looked back at my head I was almost burning myself in the fact with where the wand was… so ya know, pay attention or you could be a serious liability to yourself.

Overall I do love this curling wand, it does take some time to get used to it though. I feel like I should have picked a larger size wand, as 19mm makes really small curls and since I’m not mathematically inclined, I didn’t realize that 19mm was 3/4″. I feel like it would work amazing for people who have thinner hair or not so much volume, but I have super thick Italian hair and I need a larger diameter curling iron or it takes me 2 hours to curl my hair.

Do I feel like it’s worth $139? If you curl your hair a lot, then yes. It heats up quickly, it produces a very nice consistent result throughout. However, they do a lot of sales and if you’re patient you might be lucky enough to catch one. I got mine for $9.99 + shipping during the Black Friday sale and it was totally worth it.

Lipstick and Makeup Organizers

Alright, so I’ll be honest; I have a lot of makeup. Shocking right?! No seriously though, I have 3 large makeup bags full of amazing makeup products and I have been feeling very disorganized and flustered with everything everywhere. So I’ve decided to be very Monica-like (you know, from Friends?) and I purchased some organizers from Amazon so that I can alphabetize everything and put it in it’s own little place.

I just thought I would share the organizers with you because they are actually really inexpensive and a lot easier than DIY ones. I tried the DIY ones and I’m crafty and just ended up tossing it and spending less on the pre-made ones. SO, here they are!

Acrylic Lipstick Holder

Acrylic Lipstick Holder

This gem holds 24 lipsticks, which if I’m honest, probably isn’t going to hold all of my lipsticks. But it’s a start, and I liked that it was tiered so I could have an easier time pulling the lipsticks out. I don’t like the flat box ones because I feel like my fingers would get stuck trying to get one of the lipsticks in the middle of it out.

Cost? Drumroll please; $3.99 + FREE shipping, steal of a deal. I mean really, it’s a good deal and cheaper than any DIY version you’d do yourself.

You can get it here on

Acrylic makeup drawer holder

Then there’s this gem which I plan to use to store all of my pigment eyeshadows and blushes.

Cost: $28 + Prime shipping eligible.

You can get it here on

makeup brush holder diy 51hETy+TfKL

For my makeup brushes I bought a 6″ glass vase and some pink gemstones. I’ll put the gemstones in the bottom and stick the brush handles in it upside down for a cute little holder 🙂

Do you have your makeup organized? I’d love to see your setup!
