Oh Veggies. Sometimes we just are NOT motivated to eat you . I know you’re good for me, but sometimes I just can’t bring myself to do it.

If any of you are like me, then you’ll love this recipe for hidden veggies in your drinks!
Here´s a delicious drink that sneaks a veggie in  Get your fruit and veggies at the same time!

Sneaky Smoothie

What you will need:

1 Large pitcher

A blender


16oz of water

1 handful of spinach

3-4 Strawberries

Handful of mixed berries

1 apple

1  carrot


1.) Chop everything up and put it into the blender.

3.) Blend until smooth. (make sure you stir and really blend,the carrots and apples can leave chunks.)

4.) Chill and enjoy garnished with a slice of lemon !!!

The most amazing part? You can’t taste the vegetables!

DIY Temporary Tattoo For Kid Safety

Alright, so it’s summer time and summer time means lots of fun. Whether it’s going to amusement parks, the zoo, on vacations or whatever it may be, you want to keep your kids safe. I was thinking, you know, what would be a good way to keep Ana (my daughter) safer? What if she somehow slips out of my fingers and I lose her amongst the crowd? Now I’m very good at watching my daughter and keeping her with me at all times, but a mom worries all of the time! They always want their kids safe. So I came up with this idea which I personally think is amazing.


All you need is a fine point sharpie or sharpie-like pen, write “if lost call” and your phone number, then put some liquid bandaid on top, let it dry and you have a water proof temporary tattoo that should last for about a day 🙂 If your handwriting isn’t so great, you can get some Temporary Tattoo paper here  and print your info off (make sure it’s backwards so it shows up right when you put it on!) and then put liquid bandaid on that after it’s transferred. Voila, more safety for your kids 😀



I’m back! (Plus how to pack your carry on!)

I know I’ve been MIA the past few days. It’s because I went to New Jersey and NYC for a conference 🙂 I met a TON of awesome people and had a great time! While I was there everyone asked me if I would do a tutorial on how to pack your bags. I packed everything for the weekend in a small carry on duffle bag, which is apparently really not a common thing to do, but I hate checking bags and wanted to just be able to grab and go. So before I left the hotel, I laid everything out and took some pictures so that I could show you how I packed my bags and hopefully help you on your next trip 🙂

Health Benefits of Raw Honey and Cinnamon

It is found that a mix of honey and cinnamon cures most diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Scientists of today also note honey as very effective medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without side effects which is also a plus.Today’s science says that even though honey is sweet, when it is taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm even diabetic patients.

HEART DISEASES: Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, put it on toast instead of jelly and jam and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol and could potentially save one from heart attack. Also, even if you have already had an attack studies show you could be kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of cinnamon honey strengthens the heart beat. In America and Canada, various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as one ages the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and the veins.

ARTHRITIS: Arthritis patients can benefit by taking one cup of hot water with two tablespoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. When taken daily even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week (out of the 200 people so treated) practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain — and within a month, most all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis now started walking without pain.

ALLERGIES: Local honey is great to help out with allergies because the bees carry pollen from local plants, it’s like an immune boosting shot of goodness.

BLADDER INFECTIONS: Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder….who knew?

CHOLESTEROL: Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water given to a cholesterol patient was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours. As mentioned for arthritic patients, when taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterol-could be cured. According to information received in the said Journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.

COLDS: Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and, clear the sinuses, and if you add a little bit of ginger to the mix it helps even faster 🙂

UPSET STOMACH: If you take honey and cinnamon together you can cure upset stomachs and ulcers, yes please!

GAS: According to the studies done in India and Japan, it is revealed that when Honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.

IMMUNE SYSTEM: Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacterial and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of Honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles (where DNA is contained) to fight bacterial and viral diseases.

INDIGESTION: Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food is eaten relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals

INFLUENZA: A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural ‘Ingredient’ which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu.

LONGEVITY: Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the ravages of old age. Use four teaspoons of honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon powder, and three cups of boiling water to make a tea. Drink 1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life spans increase and even a 100 year old will start performing the chores of a 20-year-old.

RASPY OR SORE THROAT: When throat has a tickle or is raspy, take one tablespoon of honey and sip until gone. Repeat every three hours until throat is without symptoms.

PIMPLES: Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it off the next morning with warm water. When done daily for two weeks, it removes all pimples from the root.

SKIN INFECTIONS:Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin Infections.

WEIGHT LOSS:Daily in the morning one half hour before breakfast and on an empty stomach, and at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup of water. When taken regularly, it reduces the weight of even the most obese person. Also, drinking this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.

CANCER: Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder three times a day for one month.

FATIGUE: Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful rather than being detrimental to the strength of the body. Senior citizens who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts are more alert and flexible. Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that a half tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, even when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, when taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 P.M., the vitality of the body increases within a week.

BAD BREATH: Gargle a teaspoon of honey and cinnamon mixed in warm water and it will cure your bad breath!

HEARING LOSS: It is said that if you take equal parts of honey and cinnamon morning and night it will restore your hearing, pretty cool huh?

{Workout Wednesday} The Ultimate Bikini Butt Workout


If you’re like me, you probably don’t want a saggy gross butt that looks like someone slapped some lunch meat onto two thighs. So for the ultimate bikini butt workout, to make your buns firm and lifted, you can do these exercises once a day. Be careful with your knees when doing squats and lunges (I totally wrote lunches, because I’m hungry and it’s lunch time). Keep your knees from going over your toes. You want to drop straight down and come up, and stick your bum back like you are sitting in a chair when you do squats.

Paleo Red Pepper Bacon Burger

I love bacon and I love burgers! So I decided to make a Paleo burger, which is basically just a burger with no bun. I like slightly spicy foods, so in general I always add a little heat to whatever I’m cooking, because it’s just better that way. 😉

What you will need (Makes 4 servings)

4 slices of thick cut bacon, cooked and set to the side.


1lb ground beef
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp oregano
pinch of salt and black pepper
Lettuce, for a “bun”
Spicy mustard for topping

Mix the ingredients from ** and beyond together and form patties. We use a George Foreman grill, because we love it. Seriously, it’s like my favorite piece of equipment in the kitchen. If you don’t have one, you should buy one, but in the meantime you can use a pan on the stove. In the George Foreman grill you place the patties for approximately 8 minutes or until it is no longer pink in the middle, to cook it in a pan cook for 4 minutes on one side and 4 on the other – check the center for pinkness.

When they are fully cooked, you put them onto a nice large piece of lettuce, add a little bit of spicy mustard and the bacon and voila, delicious and paleo friendly 🙂



{Meatless Monday} 3 Cheese Toasted Cheese

For the next few days I’m just trying to use whatever we have in the cupboards, so for Meatless Monday, we were debating between two choices, but ultimately decided with cheese, because well, we love cheese.

So what goes in this lovely toasted cheese sandwich?

We used Italian Bread, because that’s what we had on hand, but you can use whatever kind of bread you enjoy.

2 Slices of Bread
2 Slices of Sergento Provolone-Mozzerella Cheese
1 Slice of White American (no yucky cheese dyes for us, please!)
1 tablespoon of A1 Steak Sauce – yes, this is a surprisingly delicious combo, trust me.

Put the cheese and A1 Sauce between the bread and you can either grill it on a panini press (we have this George Foreman grill/panini press combo) or you can heat up a pan and put a little bit of coconut oil in it and grill it on each side for about 2 minutes (or until cheese is melted and toast is browned) on medium heat.



I’ve lost 3 dress sizes and I’m getting my abs back – ask me how 🙂



Level: Easy – How to Poach an Egg

Alright, so I’m a huge fan of Master Chef, because who isn’t? This past week their challenge was to poach an egg and make Eggs Benedict and they were having so many problems and not poaching eggs right (not to mention the hollandaise sauce, but we wont go there right now) and I’m like “that really doesn’t look that hard.” but I had never poached an egg, so what did I know, right? So I decided I was going to poach the egg myself and see how it worked. Yeah, it was super easy, I had no problems at all. So here are directions on how to poach an egg – easily.


What you’ll need:
1 egg
1 teaspoon of vinegar
a cup/mug/measuring spoon to hold the egg
A slotted spoon


Here are a few follower tips to make it even easier!
Use a small pot and shallow water, it helps the egg to stay together easier.

Bring a pot of water to an almost boil, add 1 teaspoon of vinegar, stir it around, then with a cup pour the egg into the pan. Use the spoon to keep the whites near the egg. Let it sit for 3-4 minutes and then use the slotted spoon to gently pick it up and allow the excess water to drain. Place on a piece of toast and enjoy! 🙂
